Depending upon schedules and available resources, outreach efforts
may include speaking engagements, participating in health fairs or
conferences, providing facility tours, or hosting meetings. Contact the
Childhelp
office or facility within your community for more information.
Public Awareness
Childhelp provides a variety of public awareness materials which are
distributed at a national and local level. This includes brochures and
other printed materials, and a powerful music video by country music
star and Childhelp Celebrity Ambassador Collin Raye entitled "The
Eleventh Commandment." This video portrays the heartbreaking reality of
abused children and concludes with the Childhelp National Child Abuse
Hotline number, 1-800-4-A-CHILD. It is an excellent tool for
professionals who make child abuse presentations to students or
community groups, or as a discussion starter for group therapy
sessions.
Many Childhelp public awareness activities take
place each April (National Child Abuse Prevention Month) as part of the
Childhelp
National Day of Hope.
Public awareness materials range from blue ribbon pins to abuse
prevention information printed on table tents suitable for office
reception areas or restaurant tables.
Childhelp offers to TV stations and
networks several high-quality 30-second child abuse PSAs available in
professional formats. Each concludes with the Childhelp National Child
Abuse Hotline number, 1-800-4-A-CHILD. A 30-second TV PSA by Collin
Raye, as well as his "11th Commandment" music video are also available
in Beta format. Childhelp also provides radio stations with 15- and
30-second "live read" PSAs featuring the hotline number. Additional
materials are available or can be developed for magazine, newspaper,
Internet and other applications. To request materials, contact the
Communications Department at the Childhelp National Headquarters at
(480) 922-8212, or via email to
mediainquiries@Childhelp.org.
