A desperate father wanted to make a child abuse report but was finding it difficult as he could not speak or understand English.
Feeling as though he had no other place to turn to, he called the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline 1-800-4-A-Child (1-800-422-4453).
A crisis-counselor responded, who found an interpreter through the language line assistance, and through the interpreter was able to answer all his questions.
To the caller’s relief, they were also able to assist him in contacting his local child protective services so he could, finally, make the child abuse report he needed to.
The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline is able to access interpreters in 170 languages, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need help, please call.blog comments powered by Disqus
