Loss of CPS Workers Hurts Kids

Childhelp Executive Director John Reid responded today in a letter to the Arizona Republic regarding the state laying off CPS workers.
Quote: "Unfortunately, help for government-funded programs doesn't increase with the heightened risk. In fact, the funding for the very programs that prevent child abuse and support treatment for victims of abuse is usually the first to get cut, as evidenced in the recent round of layoffs by the CPS. The Fortune 500 set is getting billions in a desperate attempt to right the wrongs of grossly irresponsible lending practices; meanwhile, vital programs that exist to protect our children are being slashed."
