4th Annual B-Train’s Holiday Express shopping spree grants wishes to the children of Childhelp
11/28/2007
“I am excited to do this every year! It's for a great cause and the
well-being of children is very important to me and more importantly the
future,” said Berry. “Every year my teammates join me in making it
possible to give these children a reason to smile by giving them a life
experience they never had.”
The children will share in a
one-of-a-kind experience with Berry and his Arizona Cardinals teammates
at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 1607 W. Bethany Home Road in
Phoenix Dec. 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Each child will have $100 to
spend, as well as dinner from McDonald’s, a t-shirt and other surprises.
“The
Bertrand Berry Foundation is grateful for Childhelp and its founders
Sara and Yvonne who, for decades, have been pivotal in saving and
changing the lives of abused and neglected children,” continued
Bertrand. “Abuse and neglect is a very serious problem that needs to
stop. I may not have the power to stop it, but I have the ability to
make their lives a little bit better for a moment in time.”
CEO
and Co-Founder Sara O’Meara and President and Co-Founder Yvonne
Fedderson started Childhelp in 1959, establishing it as a leading
national non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of child
abuse and neglect and at-risk children. Childhelp’s approach focuses on
advocacy, prevention, treatment and community outreach.
The
Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline, 1-800-4-A-CHILD®, operates 24
hours a day, seven days a week, and receives calls from throughout the
United States, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam.
Childhelp’s programs and services also include residential treatment
services; children’s advocacy centers; therapeutic foster care; group
homes and child abuse prevention, education and training. Childhelp also
created the National Day of Hope®, held each April during National
Child Abuse Prevention Month that mobilizes people across America to
join the fight against child abuse.
