Isagenix Celebrates $1 Million in Donations to Childhelp With “Wall of Hope” Unveiling
Chandler, Ariz. — February 24, 2009 — Isagenix®, a Chandler-based health-and-wellness company, is celebrating the cumulative donation of $1 million to Childhelp® to help victims of child abuse and neglect and at-risk children. The company will host a special event on February 25 at its international headquarters in Chandler to unveil a “Wall of Hope” to recognize the Isagenix Associates who have donated to Childhelp.
Isagenix has donated more than $1 million to Childhelp over the past four years and anticipates the donation of nearly another $1 million in 2009 alone stemming from the generous pledges made by its Associates, customers and employees. The Wall of Hope features the photos and names of more than 100 people who have pledged to donate $1,000 or more this year.
“Isagenix is committed to building stronger communities through our philanthropic partnership with Childhelp and we are honored to recognize the generous support of our Associates, customers and employees,” said Isagenix Co-Founders Jim and Kathy Coover. “We’re very fortunate to continue to experience amazing company growth and be able to give back to organizations like Childhelp who need our support now more than ever.”
Even in the midst of a recession, Isagenix has experienced nearly 30 percent sales growth over the past year with the sales of their weight management, long-term wellness and skincare systems. The company’s products are sold through an independent network of distributors worldwide.
The funds donated to Childhelp® support a variety of programs and services including the operation of the Childhelp® National Child Abuse Hotline, 1-800-4-A-CHILD®, which offers crisis intervention, information, literature, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. The hotline has received more than 2 million calls since its inception in 1982 and regularly assists children at risk for abuse, distressed parents seeking crisis intervention and concerned individuals who suspect that child abuse may be occurring.
“Economic downturns can aggravate the many perils children face,” said John Reid, Executive Director of Childhelp. “During these challenging and stressful times, children are at an increased risk of abuse and neglect and our programs to prevent child abuse from ever happening in the first place become even more vital and the support we receive from Isagenix is absolutely crucial to continuing their operation.”
The Wall of Hope will continue to expand and add the names of distributors who pledge $1,000 or more to Childhelp. More than a dozen Isagenix distributors, including top donors who have made six-figure pledges, will be recognized at the special unveiling event on Wednesday.
