Childhelp H.K. Cummings Community Center
The mission of the Childhelp Cummings Community Center is to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional & physical needs of children and families in the West Valley.
Cummings was founded in 1993 as a partnership between the Pendergast Elementary School District, Southwest Leadership Foundation and Greater Phoenix Urban League to create a Head Start preschool program for low-income families in the area. Cummings and its dedicated staff quickly became a community resource and link to serve a wide-range of other needs. In the summer of 2007, Childhelp acquired Cummings and has since continued to dedicate the effort to provide quality and efficient resources and services to children and families in the West Valley.
The Childhelp Cummings Community Center’s strategies and services include, but are not limited to:
Before & After School Programs
Childhelp Cummings provides before and after school child care programs at many schools in the Pendergast & Littleton Elementary School Districts. The before and after school programs are structured to provide educational and developmentally appropriate activities in a safe and nurturing environment. Registration fees are based on full time or part time status. Discount given for siblings. These programs are licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
