In the U.S., almost a half million children are victims of abuse and neglect, annually. A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds and nearly 1,500 are killed due to abuse each year. Over 250,000 children entered foster care in 2010. In California, a child is abused or neglected every 4 minutes and our state accepts a child into the foster system over 100 times every day.
As the Indian Wells Chapter has expanded, it has experienced a surge in fundraising and advancement outreach intent on efforts of substantial impact to the areas it serves. Our chapters’ vision is that of a future where every childhood is free of abuse and neglect and no child is lost at the hands of another.
