Childhelp in Washington DC.

The nation’s capital is the epicenter of Childhelp’s efforts on the Childhelp National Day of Hope, and home to the Childhelp Greater Washington Area Advisory Board.

Every year on the first Wednesday of April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Childhelp encourages Americans to recognize Childhelp National Day of Hope and reflect on the lives lost every day to child abuse and neglect. As part of that observance in DC, a luncheon is held each year in which congressional leaders, policy experts, media, advocates and friends join together to discuss how everyone can make a difference in the stand for safe, healthy childhoods.

In addition to supporting these efforts and legislative initiatives for stronger child protection laws, Childhelp volunteers and donors in and around DC help support the boys and girls Childhelp serves at the nearby Childhelp Alice C. Tyler Village and across the nation through programs like the Childhelp National Child abuse Hotline and Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe.
