Indian Wells California Chapter

Our Chapter’s Vision is that of a Future

In the U.S., almost half a million children are victims of abuse and neglect, annually. A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. The Department of Health and Human Services estimates 1,770 children are killed due to abuse and neglect each year – about five children a day. In 2020 more than 40% of children identified as victims of abuse or neglect are younger than 5 years old. Studies also indicate significant under-counting of child maltreatment fatalities by state agencies – by 50% or more. In California, a child is abused or neglected every 9 minutes and our state accepts a child into the foster care system over 76 times each day.

As the Indian Wells Chapter has grown these past 11 years, we now plan three fundraising events annually and have implemented our Childhelp “Speak Up Be Safe” educational prevention program in the Coachella Valley. Our Chapter’s vision is that of a future where every childhood is free of abuse and neglect and no child is lost at the hands of another.

Our Indian Wells Chapter members have combined forces to raise funds for Childhelp to support children at risk for abuse and neglect during the COVID-19 pandemic.

You can support children and join us by making donations to our team’s cause. The process is fast, easy, and secure.

Your much needed donations will provide critical relief to children entrusted to Childhelp’s care and life-saving programs.
