Help Kids Heal

Join us in supporting the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of abused, neglected, and at-risk children.

Donating Stock

At Childhelp, we believe in the transformative power of generosity. Donating stock to Childhelp is not just a charitable contribution—it’s a strategic investment in changing lives. By donating appreciated stock that you’ve held for more than one year, you can maximize your impact and receive significant tax benefits.

Here’s why donating stock to Childhelp is crucial:

  • Maximize Your Contribution: By donating stock directly to Childhelp, you can potentially give more than you might by selling the stock and donating the proceeds. This allows us to continue our critical mission of helping abused and neglected children nationwide.
  • Tax Advantages: When you donate appreciated stock, you may receive a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock and avoid capital gains taxes that would be due if you sold the stock.
  • Simple and Impactful: It’s easy to donate stock to Childhelp. Simply contact us to get started, and we’ll guide you through the process of transferring your stock. Your donation will directly support our programs and services that provide healing, hope, and safety to children in need.

Your support through stock donations empowers Childhelp to make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Childhelp's Federal Tax ID number?

Our EIN/tax ID number is 95-2884608

Can I give in honor/memory of someone?

Absolutely! When making an online donation, select the “I Would Like to Dedicate This Gift” option and follow the prompts to honor or remember someone special. If you prefer to donate by check, please include a note with the honoree’s name and their contact information (email or mailing address). We will ensure they receive a letter acknowledging your generous donation.

Are there any transaction fees associated with my donations?

Unfortunately, even nonprofit organizations incur fees from banks and credit card companies to process donations. We encourage you to choose the most convenient donation method for you. Checks are the least expensive to process. If you’d like to help cover the cost of transaction fees for an online gift, you have the option to do so when making your donation.

What is your refund policy?

Great Question! We are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with your donation. If you wish to request a refund for a donation made electronically (credit card, debit card, or EFT), these must be completed within 24 hours of the transaction. Send your request via email to donorservices@childhelp.org, and we will refund the donation in the form of the original payment. Please note that donations made by other means (cash, check, gift-in-kind, etc.) are final and cannot be refunded.

Will I receive a receipt?

All donors will receive an annual giving statement, compliant with IRS requirements, by the end of January. If you donated online and provided an email address, you will receive an emailed acknowledgment. To manage costs and reduce waste, we will send paper acknowledgments only for gifts of $25 or more. However, electronic receipts are available upon request from our donor services team.

What percentage of my donation is used for administrative and fundraising costs?

Please visit our Accountability and Transparency Page to see our most recent financial numbers, including our annual report, administrative costs, and an independent financial statement/report filed by our auditors.
