Strengthening families by keeping children in the care of their relatives.
Who We Serve
We serve relatives who step in to care for minor children when parents are unable to do so due to circumstances such as abuse, neglect, incarceration, or death. Our support extends to the entire family, when appropriate.
What We Do
The Childhelp Relative Caregiver Program offers compassionate, nonjudgmental support, connecting children and caregivers with trained staff through a model of care that empowers families while providing help, healing, and hope.
Why It Is Needed
When parents can’t provide proper care, placing a child with a safe, nurturing relative can keep them out of state foster care. Keeping children within their family network supports healthier development and more positive long-term outcomes for children and families.
How We Help
In the Relative Caregiver Program, children and their caregivers can access a range of supportive services—including resources, referrals to needed services, support groups, respite care, and family advocacy assistance.
